 Brad Smith serves as Chief Operating Officer of BAMCO, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the company’s standards. He plays a critical role in translating strategy into execution by supporting field teams, improving operational workflows, and maintaining consistency across projects.

Brad brings a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to operations, with a strong focus on planning, coordination, and accountability. He is dedicated to improving constructability, reducing risk, and driving predictable outcomes on complex rebar and reinforced concrete scopes.

 Daniel Gunnels serves as Chief Financial Officer of BAMCO, responsible for the company’s financial strategy, reporting, and long-term financial health. He partners closely with executive leadership to support informed decision-making, sustainable growth, and disciplined financial management.

Daniel focuses on aligning financial controls with operational realities, ensuring that project execution, risk management, and cash flow are managed proactively. His approach emphasizes transparency, accountability, and building systems that support both performance and scalability.

By integrating financial insight with operational goals, Daniel helps position BAMCO for long-term stability while supporting the company’s mission to deliver value-driven, constructable solutions for complex concrete-intensive projects.

 James Austin brings nearly 20 years of construction experience with a strong focus on heavy civil, reinforced concrete, and rebar-intensive infrastructure projects. His career began in field and engineering roles and advanced through superintendent, general superintendent, and construction management leadership positions. Throughout his career, James has led complex transportation, rail, and civil infrastructure projects from early planning and estimating through execution and closeout, developing a constructability-driven approach to project delivery.

James is passionate about improving how reinforced concrete and rebar-intensive construction is executed in the field. He focuses on bridging engineering intent with real-world constructability, helping teams deliver safer, more efficient, and higher-quality results through thoughtful planning, coordination, and innovative construction methods.

His leadership is guided by accountability, integrity, and clear communication. James emphasizes safety, quality, and trust—believing that consistent execution and follow-through are the foundation of strong project outcomes and long-term relationships.

Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and tackling hands-on projects, all of which reflect his problem-solving mindset and appreciation for teamwork.

 Steven Simpson brings over 20 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a career that has progressed from field engineering and superintendent roles into project management, estimating, and executive leadership. He has delivered complex infrastructure projects across Texas, including highways, bridges, drainage systems, retaining structures, and large-scale concrete and excavation work. As President of SB Contractors, Steven has overseen more than $90 million in civil construction work, with direct responsibility for execution, risk management, and overall project performance.

Steven is driven by the challenge of planning and executing demanding civil projects that require precise sequencing, coordination, and problem-solving. He particularly enjoys complex work involving deep excavations, structural concrete, cofferdams, and other high-risk, concrete-intensive scopes.

His leadership style centers on accountability, safety, and disciplined execution. Steven believes successful projects are built on thorough planning, decisive leadership, and clear expectations, with a strong emphasis on ownership, performance, and maintaining credibility with clients and agencies.

Outside of work, Steven enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and attending the many extracurricular activities of his four children.
